Cornelia FitzRoy is a landscape painter based in East Anglia. She trained at Byam Shaw and Chelsea school of art. Her work is a direct response to the changing colours, light, weather, and seasons, as her work is created outside "au plein air", even when raining the boot of her LAND CRUISER becomes a studio. This and the use of a palate of two reds, two blues and two yellows, with Quinacridone Magenta and Alizarine means she mIxes colours of the countryside with concentrated attention. The chalk pastel paintings force difficult decisions on what colours are there, and what to select to achieve the same effect. Composition in her paintings is key to finding a way or journey through the landscape. Cornelia is a member of Group Eight, a collective of 8 norfolk painters, who meet regularly for life drawing sessions.
