Jim Sheehan graduated from the Cambridge School of Art in 2011 with a
degree in fine art.
Since graduating he has worked as a fabricator and studio assistant
for acclaimed British artist Mat Collishaw and more recently as a
specialist painter for Damien Hirst. Jim has now chosen to dedicate
more time to his own practice.
Working primarily in paint, Jim creates work that has a sense of self
generation, seeking to obtain the harmonious interplay between colour
and texture that can be observed in nature.
2014-2015: produced a series of 7 abstract colour field paintings.
2016 - 2017: produced a collection of 6 paintings inspired by fata morgana; the unusual and complex form of superior mirage that is seen in a narrow band right above the horizon.
