Tanya Brett is one of the UK’s leading animalier sculptors working in ceramic and bronze. Brett works into the clay’s surface with scratches and brush strokes - techniques normally associated with drawing and painting - giving the animals she depicts a vitality and immediacy. The sculptures are finished with a layer of porcelain and high fired.
Tanya Brett (b.1974) lives and works in London. She studied Three Dimensional Design (BA Hons) at the University of Brighton. As well as joint exhibitions with Jane Lewis at the Tanner & Lawson Gallery London, Brett has also exhibited with Adrian Sasoon at The Armory in New York.
Recent commissions include; Marco Pierre White, for his restaurant’s, Wheeler’s of St James’s and Wheeler’s at the Kings Arms Inn, West Sussex and Lord Alistair McAlpine, for his Italian Garden and The Plantation House, Mustique.
